  • I had the afternoon to myself!! 🤗 If you didn't know this already this never happens for me...my husband is a baseball coach who is rarely home this time of the year. 😏
I debated on a glass of wine soaking up some rays of sunshine ☀️ or an intense work out and protein shake. 
If I'm lucky I may still have time for that wine! 😂

I do this because it’s my life. Might sound corny but working out has taught me skills that many people have yet to learn. It’s taught me how to prioritize my time, how to be mindful of others, how to dedicate myself to one thing despite how long it takes me to get it and many more. ⁣

It’s much deeper than moving weights, it’s much deeper than doing it to get girls or win a show. This sport has instilled that everything you do must be done right or there will be consequences. ⁣

Overall, this working out stuff, has made me into the person I am today.

  • Let’s talk about “Gym Anxiety” Yes the gym can be therapeutic but it can also be a fckin’ nightmare if you’re new to fitness. You want to be “insta”fit, look like a @gymshark babe, drop 5-20lbs, “bulk up” but as soon as you pull into the gym parking lot anxiety sets in. You walk into the gym after having to talk yourself off the ledge only to find yourself on the edge of a anxiety ridden breakdown. Everyone else seems to know what weights to pick up, how to squat & then Jim with the big arms & dreamy calves is looking at you while you’re checking in at the counter & you immediately feel your face turning red, palms sweating, heart racing & your fears/insecurities begin to take control. “Why did I wear this, everyone is looking at me, I don’t belong here, why did I come, omg they know I’m new...” annnnd scene 🎥 you walk out. If this is you, you’re not alone!!!! Want some advice? First, find your “why”. My dear friend @tamarahaddad7 is always challenging her clients to discover their why to beginning a fit lifestyle or journey down the competition route. Get a gym membership, hire a trainer for 3 months who can teach you proper form on weight machines, free weights, & cardio. Get a workout 🏋🏻‍♀️ buddy for encouragement & accountability. Maybe even look to hiring a nutritionist or life coach who can help identify core issues for unhealthy lifestyle habits @angela_j_20 Is an amazing tool for this. At the end of the day knowledge builds confidence & if you have the info on how to lift, what to lift, BMI, how to be in calorie deficiency or a calorie surplus, etc etc. YOU WILL achieve your goals & build confidence. Don’t let the process of fitness intimidate you when there are so many tools to help you. It doesn’t mean you won’t have anxious moments bc shit even some days if I see hot dude with muscles or realize my pants are inside out 💁🏻‍♀️ (doesn’t happen often after the first time) or realize my pants are completely see through 👀 which is all the time & most leggings, anxiety can creep back in but getting through my workout feels so much better than walking out of the gym. DM or comment below any questions you may have. I love you & you got this!

Entre la lluvia, el frío y la humedad no existieron las ganas de salir de casa. Por eso, dediqué parte de mi día a estudiar y otra parte a cocinar.
Preparé varias cosillas que verán esta semana... pero por ahora les paso la receta de esta torta que amo y amaré siempre.
La carrot cake es clásica, y esta es mejor que la tradicional por varias razones: no tiene gluten, avena, azúcar o aceite; es súper fácil de hacer; tiene un sabor y una textura de otro mundo; y hace muy feliz a quien la consuma 😋

Espero que les guste mucho!

CARROT CAKE GLUTEN FREE 🍰 
2 tazas de zanahoria rallada @lho.arg 
jugo y ralladura de 1 naranja
1/2 taza de harina de arroz 
1/2 taza de harina de quinoa
1/4 taza de coco rallado
1 cda sopera de stevia liquida
1/2 cdita de polvo de hornear 
1/2 cdita de extracto de vainilla 
pizca de sal

1. Precalentar horno a 200 grados.
2. Colocar en un bowl la zanahoria rallada, jugo de naranja, ralladura de naranja, stevia y extracto de vainilla. Mezclar.
3. Luego, agregar los ingredientes restantes e integrar con las manos, formando una masa densa.
4. Llevar a molde de torta PEQUEÑO, previamente engrasado.
5. Hornear por 40’/50’.
Decorar con lo que quieeeran ❣️

  • “We all have the same 24 hours in a day” PLZZZ SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK 🗣👏🏼 I understand that everyone’s life is different but at the end of the day, excuses won’t get you to your goals...dedication and time management WILL🕒✍🏻 Atlanta traffic is nooo joke 😅 but I’ve managed to make it to the gym every single day after work so far, even though Aunt Flo has made me want to curl up with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s and watch the Bachelorette all night 😭😂 By creating a schedule and a routine, it’s so much easier to hold yourself accountable. People MAKE TIME for what they prioritize and what they care about. So if you TRULY want to take care of your physical & mental health, drop the phone for an hour a day and get in the gym. 😌 Maximize every minute by planning out your entire day and I promise you will find a spare hour somewhere in there!!!! Stop making excuses and start bettering yourself 💚 #MotivationMonday
