  • We are in the process of creating a website for people to sell outdoor gear. It will launch in a month or so. We will vet every vendor to ensure people aren't being scammed and we will charge less commission than eBay. Give us a follow and check out our website (link in profile). Good luck this season!

  • 🏅A heartbreaking photo shows a police officer in Connecticut saying his final goodbye to his partner. K9 Hunter has been ill for that past several days and when tests were conducted they revealed that K9 Hunter has a very aggressive form of Liver cancer. They unfortunately recommended that he be euthanized.🏅😭❤

  • The Cliff Lodge - The Story Behind...
(2)
.
Welcome back and Thank you for being with us on this Journey! Today we going to take you right back to how it all started...
.
Back in 2017 we were travelling around Sri Lanka for a few months, created a business plan for an extensive glamping project at the cliff and failed to find like minded people to invest in us. Well, that was exactly the struggle we knew back from London and it wasn’t much of a shock to us. In December we decided to camp at the cliff for a few days to see it, to hear it, to touch it, to taste it and to feel it…
.
The tea pluckers and their families left the line houses and Mother Nature once again embedded the ruins in a picturesque scenery.
.
And we loved it even more than we already did. On the last day we met with Wasantha to tell him that we have to go back to London and work for the money we needed to start. In the end he said: lets just start now, we have everything here we need and I will be with you.
.
!!! We can do it together and start small !!!
.
Honestly this was something we never heard before. He took a high risk in going with us and supported us all the way. (Read his FB story on @haputalemountaintours)
.
And this is exactly what The Cliff Lodge is all about: to learn from each other, to grow together and support each other.
.
The 4th of January 2018 was the day we moved our entire universe to the cliff and we did start very small. There were 3 tents and 3 lanterns, a very wobbly roof on one compartment, a toilet, a shower and running water which Wasantha had been organising already the months before. It was pure Freedom and Peace. We were sleeping in a tent inside the roofed compartment and had a small fire place right next to it. When you need 45 min in the morning to make yourself a cuppa Tea you get to know the reality of the life up here very quick and we can only say it was the most rewarding experience you can imaging.
.
Stay with us for the next chapter in the Life of The Cliff Lodge and have a look at our Story today to find out more about the experience You can have up here!

  • Don’t you just love it when animals walk towards you? Especially bears! This was a pretty cool black bear, he looks more like a grizzly compared to other black bears. Look at that big shoulder, small nose compared to face, and brown hide. The only thing that gives it away is the tall pointy ears. I think society puts a bad name on bears. I’ve had a few really close encounters with black and grizzly bears on this trip and I’ve actually felt pretty comfortable around them.
