  • This tattoo on my arm is my newest. It’s an outline of my upper body standing in superhero pose. My right nipple is visible along with the scar from my surgery (which I’m still learning to love if I’m being completely honest—the scar that is, love the tattoo). The power of the pose stemmed from my ayahuasca ceremonies and even made its way into a @thebecomeproject routine. If you’ve been following long enough, you know the full story. Thank you to @florianhirnhack for the beautiful ink + art + designing one of my most meaningful tattoos.

  • Fact: I bedazzled these undies for a solid three hours with a $9 hot glue gun. Another fact: I was really nervous about wearing this outfit. When I went shopping for pride event looks and found this ahhhmazing blazer by @cessanimalta, I asked for the opinion of the shop workers. I excitedly explained I could wear nude underwear and just the blazer. No one met my excitement. One of them looked me up and down and said, “ummm are you going to show all the body hair? maybe you should wear shorts”. ⁣
⁣
I flustered and huffed back, “leg hair is my thing yes I’m keeping it” all the while crumbling inside. WHY DOES BODY HAIR MAKE YOU FEEL SO EMBARRASSED??!! ⁣
Anyway, I took the dress because i loved it but felt really self conscious and wasn’t sure I’d wear it at all. But per usual, the other side came out of me and I was like f*ck it, I’m wearing nude undies and I’m going to BEDAZZLE THE HELL OUT OF THEM!! That night, I ordered the hot glue gun. ⁣
⁣
Funny thing is, I don’t even notice my leg hair in these pics. Probably because the underwear are so damn fantastic and my smile so big.⁣

  • While I’ve casually mentioned growing out my leg hair on insta stories, I haven’t yet publicly talked about it. Probably because I haven’t felt confident enough to do so until recently—and make no mistake, leg hair is still an insecurity for me. ⁣
⁣
Today I found some footage from last December. A compilation of selfie videos from when I had been growing out my leg hair for about two months. I didn’t make these thinking i would share them, but after watching it for the first time today, I was happy to see how far I’d come in my comfort level. Immediately following this post, I’ll share it on IGTV for anyone who wants to watch. ⁣
⁣
I’m starting to have fun with my leg hair and the warm weather has forced me to expose my legs in public, which has been a very helpful exercise. This week I bleached them and dyed the hair electric yellow...I love it so much I’m planning my next color already. ⁣
⁣
“Beauty” is a subjective principle. We believe something is beautiful the more we are told it is beautiful. Remember in middle school when freckles weren’t cute? Now people literally tattoo freckles on their face. I hope by exposing my hair, it can make others feel more comfortable with theirs. Whether they choose to remove it, or let it grow.

  • Here are some cute pics from the @belvederevodka event this week (@janellemonae I heart you) but even more important is to keep sight of what this month is about. In a recent interview with @mindbodygreen, this is what i had to say about #pride2019.⁣
⁣
“The people who need the most support in our community are trans and gender nonconforming people, specifically those of color. They're the most discriminated against, they're the ones who are in the most danger. The number of trans women who have died this year—I think the count is at 10 right now—and those are only the ones we know about who weren’t misgendered on their death certificate. This isn't about a parade. It's about a march.⁣
⁣
I feel really, really passionate about reminding everyone that this is still a fight, and there are still people who cannot walk out of their door safely. I'm not one of those people. I live a very safe life. I definitely enjoy a lot of things. I'm privileged in that way, and so it's my responsibility to make sure that I take care of my community and that they're receiving the same type of equality that I am. That's definitely what Pride is about this year.”⁣

  • I use the words “open relationship” and “polyamorous” pretty interchangeably when talking about us. But every time i ask someone else what the words mean to them, I always get a different answer. Often, the answers are polar opposite! Without consulting google first, what do these words mean to you at first glance?⁣
⁣
**for those who want to share, I’m interested in your definition of these two words. please no hateful or judgmental comments. if this conversation isn’t for you, just keep scrolling** ⁣
