  • Yep, we just traded in our heated pool and suburban home for a cold garden hose in the country, but the kids (and the dog) don’t seem to miss it one bit! ☀️💦

  • Ever bite off more than you can chew? 👋🏻 ⁣
⁣
Between packing, moving, splitting our time between two homes that are over an hour away from each other, filming the BBMC 8.0 Daily Workouts, running my VIP Inner Circle group and simultaneously hosting a LIVE round of the 7 Day Surge, all while managing the demands of five kids who are all home for summer ... I was almost positive that I wasn’t going to survive the week. And yet here I am, still standing!⁣
⁣
Do you ever have moments like that? Where you overcommit and spread yourself so thin you aren’t sure if you can pull it off... only to surprise yourself by learning just how capable you truly are? That was me this week. ⁣
⁣
I wouldn’t encourage anyone to take on so much on a regular basis (if it can be helped) because this level of stress isn’t healthy long-term for anyone, but every once in a while it’s really awesome to astound yourself and gain a healthy new perspective and appreciation for “down time!” 🙌🏻😂🙌🏻⁣

  • I could not be anymore excited for THIS GIRL @thebirdspapaya! ⁣
⁣
It has been an honour to watch her journey to becoming the woman she is today, and I feel so blessed to call her a friend! ⁣
⁣
Sarah’s podcast @thepapayapodcast just hit #1 on the chart (like less than 48hrs after it was released!) and if you tune into her pilot episode, it is easy to see WHY! ⁣
⁣
Thank you @thebirdspapaya for including my episode in your initial launch (episode 3 for those who want to hear more of my personal backstory to founding BBM). In case this huge achievement wasn’t evidence enough... you are a gift to everyone who’s life you have an opportunity to touch. Love you! 💕

  • If you are currently doing my FREE Bikini Body Mommy Challenge 8.0 (or Live 7 DAY SURGE) this week, you are going to notice a change of workout scenery!⁣
⁣
We are currently moving and in between TWO HOUSES! 😱⁣
⁣
Why? Well, with our older children having just graduated high school and leaving the nest to pursue college, careers, and adulthood, we found that our family’s need to occupy such a large home was about to shift quite significantly without so many beds to fill!⁣
⁣
Given the knowledge of this impending transition for our family, @BoardshortDaddy and I decided to try something that we’ve talked about doing for YEARS! We traded in our keys to “suburban living,” for a smaller home on 4 rolling acres in the country where we can give our youngest three children an opportunity to run and play and experience a different way of life that includes more of nature and the great outdoors!⁣
⁣
Now for all of the OC, Southern California mom’s who are panicking right now that you just lost your opportunity to run into me at Target... DON’T WORRY... we didn’t leave, we are still in the area for meet ups! We just found a hidden slice of heaven in the hills that was too good to pass up!⁣
⁣
I can’t wait to get everything unpacked and everyone settled in so we can show you guys around. Until then, stay tuned... 💕

  • This morning...⁣
While I am in the middle of simultaneously feeding the baby, wrapping a Father’s Day gift, helping Arwyn open an orange, and telling Parker where the Advil is [A.K.A multi-tasking like a boss]...⁣
⁣
Finn: “Mommy, do scorpions chase you in the mountains? My friend Adam says they chase you.”⁣
⁣
Me: (half-way listening...cuz again multitasking like a boss) “Errrr, there are scorpions in the desert and mountains, but I don’t think they chase you. I’m not sure.”⁣
⁣
Finn: “Well I’m just going to wait to ask daddy because I know he knows WAYYYY more things than you!”⁣
⁣
Me: (stops multitasking) “what?...🤨”⁣
⁣
Finn: “Well yeah, Daddy is like way smarter than you ‘cuz, like, he knows EVERYTHING!”⁣
⁣
Me: (pauses to debate my rebuttal) “Ok. Well, when he wakes up you can ask him, but for the record, Mommy is smart too... just in a different way!”⁣
⁣
Finn: “Well yeah, but Daddy is still smarter.”⁣
⁣
😂💕 ⁣
⁣
Happy Fathers Day to the “smartest,” most dependable, present, kind, loving, funny, conscientiousness, selflessness, and intellectual man who yes, often “knows wayyyy more things” than me. ⁣
⁣
Thank you for your dedication to fiercely loving and teaching our children all you can through example about life, love, and this crazy place we call earth. ⁣
⁣
You are a gift to this family everyday ... but especially today! Happy Fathers Day @boardshortdaddy, we love you!⁣

  • So I logged into FB this morning and was punched in the gut by this reminder of what my body looked like only a year ago. ⁣
⁣
Immediately, without even thinking, I compared it too my current body and felt this overwhelming amount of shame, disappointment, anxiety, and sadness. 😭😭😭⁣
⁣
And then, after taking a hot minute to feel those feelings and validate them as worthy... I realized a couple things. ⁣
⁣
What this image DOESNT SHOW is that at the time, there was a baby girl implanting deep in my womb that we would eventually come to call Everly, with eyes as blue as the Aegean sea. A baby girl who we love more than life itself and who I would never want to think was not worth every pound, stretchmark, and saggy skin season she took to bring into this world. And it was with that realization that I knew I had TWO choices about how to internalize the physical reminder FB so graciously gave me.⁣
⁣
1. I can choose to see this image of myself as a reminder of how much this 5th baby changed my body for the worse, how different I look, how much work I have to do to get back to a place we’re I feel beautiful, healthy, and worthy.. and just let it make me feel downright depressed and discouraged. ⁣
⁣
.... OR .... ⁣
⁣
2. I can choose to see this image as a source of inspiration and empowerment. I can look at this image of myself with compassion and use it as encouragement for how capable, miraculous, and evolving my body has been this past year (let alone the past 7 years), and have faith that (when the time is right) it will be capable of moulding, changing, and evolving once again. ⁣
⁣
...I choose the later. ❤️ #SelfLoveIsntASize

  • I can’t believe lil’ miss Everly turns 4 months old today! She is honestly the most laid back baby thus far out of the five. ⁣
⁣
A couple of little updates: ⁣
⁣
1️⃣ She is finding a nap routine during the day which makes scheduling work, filming, and things with the other kids so much easier to plan. ⁣
⁣
2️⃣ Her favorite human in the house is Finnley. She literally does everything she can to get his attention when he’s near her... it’s the cutest thing ever and reminds me a lot of Arwyn’s bond as a baby with Parker.⁣
⁣
3️⃣ We’ve FINALLY overcome her complicated breastfeeding and latch issues, but she still chooses to bounce back n’ forth between days where she only wants “the boob” and days where she only wants a bottle. This has made things extra challenging on my body trying to maintain a consistent milk supply (ugh, please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks pumping is the worst?!), but I’m managing. ⁣
⁣
4️⃣ She still has terrible reflux and projectile vomits after almost every feed (we are drowning in laundry ova’ here🙋🏼‍♀️).... but honestly, barf issues aside...⁣
⁣
5️⃣ She is always full of smiles, laughs, and coo’s and she seriously knows how to light up a room with those baby blues! 💕 #EverlyRydell

  • I share so much of my personal and family life publicly, I know it might strike some as odd that I don’t post much about my horses. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Not many people know that I grew up riding and competing show jumpers, and that my childhood dream through early adulthood was be “special enough” to compete on the world stage. Much to many peoples shock at the time, at 18 years old I gave up my passion and walked away from my childhood dream in order to become a wife and a mom. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When I walked away, I did so believing that horses would likely never be a part of who I was again (it’s been famously said that “competing horses is a kings sport”) and thus it has taken nearly my entire adult life to get to a place where I could get back in the saddle. ⁣
⁣
Given this fact, and how hard I’ve worked to have this passion and outlet again in my life, I’ve made a conscious decision (for the most part) to keep it private. Something just for ME (...and now our girls, because apparently the passion for horses runs in my blood, but that’s a story for another day!🙄)⁣⁣
⁣⁣
All that said, I feel compelled to share the story of this particular horse of mine! Her name is Encore, and unlike the $80k horses imported from Europe that she’s been competing against for the last year...she’s been the underdog with a scrappy personal story not too unlike my own! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
She’s a Thoroughbred, who I rescued from the racetrack as a 3 year old after only 5 races! Her owner (who was also her trainer) had a heart attack, and shortly after his death the racetrack was forced to liquidate his horses. There was an advertisement online about it that stated with urgency that the horses that didn’t get picked up and purchased buy a private buyer within 5 days were going to be shipped to slaughter...so, call it Kismet (or whatever else you want) but even though I wasn’t exactly in the market to get a horse again right that moment, when I saw her photo on the Thoroughbred rescue page, something inside told me she was the one and I needed to scoop her up! (Continued below...❤️)

  • Hi there, Briana here! 👋🏻 ⁣
⁣
I seemed to have gained a ton of new friends this weekend on social media so I thought it’d be fitting to do a little introduction so we can get to know each other . 💕⁣
⁣
I am a Southern California wife, and mom of five who founded my online platform BikiniBodyMommy.com 7 years ago as a way to document the ebbs and flows of my journey to health, self-love, and empowerment while publicly losing 100lbs after giving birth to my 3rd child. ⁣
⁣
Coming up with the name “Bikini Body Mommy” while weighing 211lbs (I’m only 5’3), was actually my earliest attempt to break social stigma’s surrounding body-image by trying to redefine the public perception of what having a “Bikini Body” actually means. This was several years before “body-positivity” or the “self-love” movement was even a thing so you can imagine what an uphill battle it has been! ⁣
⁣
Round of applause for US tho 👏🏻 ... Im so excited that more influencers and even main stream media has gotten on board and really helped raise the levels of social acceptance for different visual representations of health and body-image in the last couple years! The movement isn’t perfect (you don’t have to be “fat” to be included, THIN people have body-image issues too, or at least I did, which I’d like to see talked about and supported more), but we’ve come a long way in recent years which I’m jazzed to have played a small part of! ⁣
⁣
Which brings me to today... while it’s true, I offer weekly meal plans, and several premium on-demand workout series programs like the 7 Day Surge, 40 Week Pregnancy Series, Diastasis Recti rehab, Mommy & Baby Workouts, etc. on my website Bikinibodymommy.com .... what I am actually best known for is my FREE 90 Day Workout Challenges that I release every year on YouTube! ⁣
⁣
Lucky you... I just gave birth to my 5th child 3 months ago, which means if you are new here, you could NOT have found me at a more perfect time!!! ⁣
⁣
I just released my lastest FREE 90 Day Challenge (it’s the 8th in the series!) and it’s NOT TOO LATE to join (Yep, it’s REALLY FREE!) 💕 The link is in my profile! ⁣
⁣
So now it’s your turn! Say Hi 👋🏻 I want to know about YOU!

  • “It’s normal to gain 30 lbs in pregnancy, not 100!”⁣
⁣
“Nasty. What am I even watching right now?!”⁣
⁣
“C’mon, chubs.”⁣
⁣
“The only thing you are inspiring is obesity!”⁣
⁣
I have to say that I really count my blessings that I only receive one or two hateful comments like the ones above out of the THOUSANDS of “you are changing my life” positive comments that are made on my workout videos every week. ⁣
⁣
For the most part I never share these mean and hurtful comments with the BBM Community because I don’t believe they deserve my attention when clearly they don’t represent the opinions of the masses. ⁣
⁣
That said, for some reason...no matter how quickly I hit DELETE, they still cut me deep to the core. ⁣
⁣
I don’t know if it’s because these comments mimic the internal dialog I have fought so hard to overcome in some of the the most vulnerable seasons of my life... or if it’s because it reaffirms my fears that despite all of the amazing growth we have done lately as a society to change the conversation around health and body-image, there are still some truly ugly and cruel people in the world who derive pleasure out of trying to knock a empowering woman down.⁣
⁣
Either way, shaming another woman over HER BODY (whether it is thick, or thin!) is not ok, and I’m addressing the issue today by handing the mic over to my soul-sister from a different mister @JanuaryHarshe who sums up my feelings on this matter with so much power and conviction I literally could not have written a single word any better.⁣
⁣
Without further ado, ladies ... I give you Mama J:⁣
