  • Just landed back in Kelowna long enough to slightly recover from Bali belly and now we’re off again to Sacramento for the weekend to cheer on some homies competing at the WNBF Natural Muscle Mayhem!   • Here is the full body workout I did in Bali with @menno.henselmans 🔥 We did this full routine as a circuit, going from one exercise to the next until 3 sets of each were completed 👇🏼
.
▫️1. Romanian Deadlifts | 4-10 reps: heavier weight, focus on driving with glutes.
▫️2. Barbell holds | 15-30 second holds.
▫️3. Leg Extensions + BFR/Kaatsu | 15-20 reps: wrap bands at about 7/10 tightness to allow blood to pool in quads during set.
▫️4. Calf Jumps | 10-12 reps: do negative as normal, then allow knees to bend and assist with the explosive concentric.
▫️5. Machine Chest Press | 20-30 reps: take these sets very close to failure
▫️6. Bayesian Cable Curl | 10-12 reps: allow arm to extend behind the torso and lean “into the curl” as you squeeze your biceps.
▫️7. Butterfly Lateral Raise | 10-12 reps: use slight hip drive to get the weight moving and once your arms reach parallel, externally rotate (point thumbs up) and finish the ROM with dumbbells up overhead.
▫️8. Lat Prayers | 10-12 reps: lean forward to get a full stretch on the lats and pull the bar down with straight arms until you reach your legs. .

  • Well, we made it back from Bali and it was such an amazing trip! Easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. 🙌🏼 Sadly the very last day I caught a pretty nasty bug and have been totally incapable of getting any food in and barely getting out of bed for the last couple days. I am starting to feel a bit better today but I have a feeling it’s gonna be a long week getting back to full health 😕 so just an FYI that if I’m a bit MIA on YouTube, I’ve got content ready to rock it’s just a matter of getting myself healthy enough to finalize and upload. 🙏🏻👍🏼 That said, @stephanie_buttermore and I both had an AMAZING time in Bali and definitely plan to visit again. 🙏🏻💛 Just hoping for a speedy recovery so I can get back to it as soon as I can 💪🏼💪🏼🙏🏻

  • Here is a full body circuit Steph and I did at the air bnb. 🔄 Rest ~0.5-1 minute between exercises or as needed to catch breath. Repeat 2-3x.

▫️1. 50 frog pumps: this will get your glutes firing for the lunges. (Via @bretcontreras1)
▫️2. 50 walking lunges. Focus on pressing through your front leg on each rep. Arms overhead makes it a bit harder.
▫️3. AMRAP Banded Pushups. As many reps as possible with a controlled 1-up, 1-down tempo.
▫️4. 20 banded low rows. Drive elbows down to activate/ prioritize lats.
▫️5A. 20 banded low rows. Drive elbows down to activate/ prioritize lats. Superset with...
▫️5B. 20 banded high rows. Drive elbows out and back to emphasize rear delts and mid traps.
▫️6. 20 banded hammer curls. RPE10. Focus on squeezing biceps when curling.
▫️7. 20 banded overhead triceps extensions. RPE10. Keep elbow in place and extend up overhead. Squeeze triceps to extend elbow.

  • Rather than going to the gym every day here in Bali, I’ve been doing mostly “at home” workouts at our air bnb! Really all you need to get a pretty solid full body pump is a couple of bands (which are also super easy to pack in a suitcase). Granted, it’s tough to load in lower rep ranges with at-home workouts so I think it’s more important to take more sets to (or at least closer to) failure. I’ll post an example workout @stephanie_buttermore and I did here in my next post 🤙🏼

  • Our backyard in Bali!! 🐉🗺 Definitely one of the most amazing places I’ve ever visited!! Been mostly relaxing since we got here after the conference in Australia... listening to podcasts and doing some reading... but I did manage to get in an epic workout with @menno.henselmans that will be up on the channel soon 🔜 I think you guys will find the differences between my full body session with Helms and my full body session with Menno interesting and informative. Both were amazing in their own way. Excited to enjoy the rest of the week here before getting back home and back to the grind 🇮🇩🙏🏻

  • It’s the new game on the street: Challenge someone to a game of “pickup bodybuilding”! 💪🏼 the rules are simple... you go to HORSE, every lost mandatory pose gets you one letter. First person to spell out HORSE loses. You must show legs and be ranked on muscularity, balance, symmetry and conditioning. The shreds on @helms3dmj had me sweating during this match 😅😅🐎 💪🏼

  • Was such an honour to get to lift with one of the brightest guys in the bodybuilding world. @helms3dmj is one of a few guys I know who has a REAL passion for natural bodybuilding, science AND also walks the walk as much as he talks the talk.   • One of the coolest bodybuilding gyms I’ve ever trained in! 🇦🇺 We had an amazing time in Australia! 🙏🏻 The conference was a huge success, the gyms were hardcore, the people were very hospitable and the food was great. Off to Bali for the next week! 🇮🇩
