Does it ever feel like there’s a million things to do? I know I feel that way as a working mom of 3 boys!
-
Here’s a little secret, no matter how overwhelmed you feel, carve out just 5-10 minutes to sit and meditate🧘🏼‍♀️.
-
It may seem counterproductive; but, taking that time to get centered and connect with your SELF, actually gives you more freedom, more space and more time!
-
You’ll feel more energize and focused and less stressed; and can therefore do what you need to and hopefully now peacefully and with a 😊!

One of my favorite things about instagram is how inspired I get by seeing other yogis/fitness pros doing incredible things!
-
It’s truly humbling & exciting to see how much more I could accomplish; and to keep discovering new things to practice!
-
I started following @yoga_girl_london a few years ago and even met her when I went to London (I need to post our video again soon when we flowed together).
-
She is just one of the few inspiring yogis I follow; and I started practicing these crazy hard wall planks thanks to her!
-
Try some undulations in your spine first and eventually see if you can hold a straight plank with your feet pressing in to the next wall.

Give it a go and let me know your thoughts! Also send me some requests for my advanced class on Wednesday...any poses you want to build up to?!

And tag a yogi or fitness pro who inspires you!

My husband worked with @oamato on Wall Street, @iamicaniwillido and I were both teaching at the same club years ago, as well as @andyspeer and me...and @robinnyc and I first met at a photo shoot years ago!

I couldn’t ask for a better place to be right now & with my @onepeloton fam!

  • Hip hip hooray! I seriously ❤️hip openers and often just do some hip opening floor vinyasas when I’m short on time (Timothy was psyched to go swimming this day 😊); or very sore...great for all you 🚴🏻‍♀️ & 🏃🏼‍♀️!

This video is sped up a bit; but take your time and breathe in to each pose.

🔹Start in dog and slide leg through to fallen warrior (great IT band stretch)
🔹Slide the leg across in to pigeon & king pigeon
🔹Wrap back leg around for double pigeon
🔹Slide in to cow face pose
🔹Single leg cow
🔹Half reclined hero’s pose
🔹Windshield wiper quad stretch
🔹Thread the needle and drop the legs over so the sole of the foot hits the floor and press knee away
🔹Seated figure 8 bound if you can

Make your way back to dog repeat second side.

  • Hip hip hooray! I seriously ❤️hip openers and often just do some hip opening floor vinyasas when I’m short on time (Timothy was psyched to go swimming this day 😊); or very sore...great for all you 🚴🏻‍♀️ & 🏃🏼‍♀️!

There are moments when I hold myself back from saying something, or doing something, or just being ME.

Today I shared a personal story when I was teaching @onepeloton & I think I blushed a little even☺️. I wasn’t instructing in that moment; but opening up about my life.
-
I realized even if it’s a little silly, hopefully it just reminds people we are all human. YOU are your own unique human. And when you just BE in your own light, it’s a beautiful feeling 🙏🏻

  • SPLITS tutorial!!!

True story: I danced all of my life; but as a little girl, I could never do the splits.  After I discovered yoga and started practicing and learning about alignment as well as listening to my breath, I learned to do the splits on both sides!
-
My mom was shocked the first time she saw me do them years ago. Every body is different; but often overlooked when practicing splits is the openness in the front of the back leg.

We tend to think it’s all about the front hamstrings. Try these hip flexor, quad, psoas & hamstring stretches and see if it helps you get deeper. Think about sliding the back leg behind you as you lower down evenly between both legs. Do your best to keep your hips forward facing like warrior 1 pose.

Check out my @onepeloton class from 5/15/19 to get a full hamstring flow and to practice the splits using blocks. Let me know how it goes!
