Trabalhou 11 anos como repórter do jornal Zero Hora, de Porto Alegre, e 10 como repórter especial da Revista Época, em São Paulo. Desde 2010, atua como freelancer e faz projetos de longo prazo com populações tradicionais da Amazônia e das periferias da Grande São Paulo. De 2009 a 2013 foi colunista do site da revista Época. Em 1985, publicou, com Oriel Glock, The Last Frontier, Fighting over Land in the Amazon (Zed Books).   • In the Cerrado biome (the second largest in South America) forest fires are common because of extreme heat and also triggered by criminals who wish to use space for planting soybeans and raising animals.

Deforestation in the Cerrado emitted 248 million gross tons of greenhouse gases last year. It is more than double that of Brazil emits by industrial processes and is equivalent to 11% of all the carbon that Brazil pumps into the atmosphere

Stress Nexus is an artistic exploration. It aims at witnessing and documenting an important issue in times of climate change: the relationship of society with geography (climate, space and natural resources) and its own history, in identities, cultural manifestations, economic and contemporary. Societies in the world who will suffer from climate change before they can adapt.
