  • I’ve been questioning my place in this weird and wonderful world of social media recently.
I don’t share my story of being overweight as much as I used to. Guess that’s kind of because I’ve been at a pretty consistent ‘normal’ weight for years now. But I’m sharing this ‘before’ photo, not for the ‘look at me then and look at me now’ type of transformation I used to post. I just wanted to remind you that I struggle too, I still do on occasions now. I’ve always been a ‘trier’ though. That’s continued to be the story of my life really, I try. I’m not an athlete or a PT. I’m just someone who enjoys training, who wants to look alright in jeans and want to feel strong and healthy. Kind of what we all want really? I’m not perfect, but no one is. My mission is to inspire you to know that you can achieve things, to just try too.
Got quite emotional writing this caption this morning. Just wanted to say I really appreciate your support, thank you for sticking by me lovelies 💙

  • I was that person who thought they’d gain tons of weight if they didn’t track macros...
.
Trust me when I say I had about a year long consistent streak on MyFitnessPal. I know what it feels like for it to consume you. 
Like I said in the seminar on Sunday, we do have to get a way from it at some point though. You will not be doing it forever. .
There is often a time for tracking, I’m not knocking the whole thing completely. But if it starts to become obsessive and negatively impacting your life, it’s not mentally healthy for you to do so. Having gone through all that, I have to say it did take a bit of time to get my head around stopping it. Here are 3 little things that helped me.
.
👉🏼Initially start by having a couple of days off tracking every week
👉🏼Mainly stick to foods/meals you’re used to eating 👉🏼Assess how you actually FEEL after eating (eat more mindfully) .
Remember that tracking apps are a tool. 
They don’t know how you are actually feeling every day though. It could be that you got 5 hours sleep and your workout was tough. Or whether you were hormonal and just lacking in energy that day. There isn’t data that truly can assess that, you have to do that yourself. .

  • My heart is full 🙏🏻 Over the past few days I’ve had countless conversations with amazing people sharing motivational stories. Today I spoke about my personal experience with mental health in a seminar with 2 other gorgeous ladies. (@sophjbutler & @lucydavis_fit ) The experience was so powerful. 
I feel truly grateful to be a part of a team of humble and down to earth ambassadors. I also want to thank all the staff behind the scenes who need so much credit for the incredible job they do 💫

  • How to get rid of ‘hip dips’.... I’ve been asked this question a lot over the years so here’s the short answer.... whether I’ve been 46kg or now at around 56kg, guess what, I STILL have them! It makes me so sad that we’ve been made to believe they’re a bad thing. It’s just the way we’ve been made! Some have them and some don’t. I reckon we need to stop obsessing about things we can’t change, and start focusing more on things we can 💙
